Passion. Experience.

Diligence.

History

With over 20 years experience in both Law and Engineering, my broad and diverse background gives me a unique ability to identify with my clients and to provide the best services possible. I started my career as an electrical engineer with some of the top employers in Canada and the United States, including the Department of National Defense, IBM and Motorola.

As I progressed in my career, my interest in the legal administration of companies led me to pursue the study of law. I worked as a commercial, corporate and tax lawyer for over 10 years with McInnes Cooper, during which time I represented and worked with various crown corporations and some of the top companies in Canada, the United States, and abroad. I have completed my In-Depth Tax Course offered by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, giving me an understanding of accounting practices and tax law.

My volunteer work has provided me with excellent opportunities to give back to the community while providing me with both leadership and governance experience. I was the Chair of the Progress Centre for Early Intervention during a period in which the employees unionized. I was also instrumental in the merger of the various Early Intervention Centres in Nova Scotia. This merger allowed all of the early intervention centres across the province to become one government-funded program, substantially increasing their abilities to deliver high quality programming to developmentally delayed infants and young children. I am currently the Past Chair for the Lung of Association of Nova Scotia, and I on the executive and a Head Coach with Bedford & District Minor Hockey Association where I oversee 16 other coaches and was recently awarded coach of the year.
